Scam warning
I'll never DM you
Finance comment sections are full of fake accounts using my name and picture. If "Blake" messages you first, it isn't me.
My only official accounts
- YouTube: @9to5investing
- TikTok: @9to5investing
- X: @9to5investing
- Website: 9to5investing.com
- Email: blake@9to5investing.com, and only that address
I will never
- Message you first, on any app.
- Ask you to move to WhatsApp, Telegram or any other chat app.
- Ask you to send money, crypto, or a "fee" to unlock winnings.
- Offer mentorship, signals, a trading group, or a guaranteed return.
- Ask for your passwords, account numbers or Social Security number.
How to spot a fake
- A reply to your comment from "Blake" or "9to5investing" with a slightly different name, extra letters, or a phone number in it.
- On YouTube, my real replies show my channel name highlighted, which is YouTube's creator badge. Click the name: a fake leads to a different channel.
- Any message that's in a hurry. Real investing is boring; scams are urgent.
If one contacts you
- Don't reply, and don't click anything they send.
- Report the account to YouTube as impersonation: here's how.
- If you lost money, report it to the FTC at ReportFraud.ftc.gov and to the SEC at sec.gov/tcr.
