How I handle conflicts
You should know how this channel makes money and what could pull me in a direction other than yours. Here it is in one place.
How I pick topics
Mostly from what you ask about in the comments, what's moving in the market, and new filings and earnings reports. Nobody pays me to cover a stock, and no company gets to see a video before it goes up.
How the channel makes money
- YouTube ads. That's most of it right now.
- Sponsors. If a video is ever sponsored, it says so at the start, and the sponsor never gets a say in what I think about a stock.
- Affiliate links. If I ever earn money from a link, it's labeled right where the link is.
Owning the stocks I talk about
Sometimes I own a stock I cover. When I do, I say so in the video, and you can check every stock on What I own. My trading policy is there too. For small companies, where a video could actually move the price, I don't sell in the 5 trading days after the video goes up, so I'm never selling into a bump my own video might cause.
Things I'll never do
- Take money to cover or talk up a stock.
- Sell stock picks, trade alerts or a "signals" group.
- Tell you what to buy for your situation.
- Message you first asking for money or to join a group. Here's how to spot fakes.
If you think I've fallen short of any of this, tell me at blake@9to5investing.com. If I got something wrong, it goes on Corrections.
